Detashia Coleman is a native of Houston, Texas that calls District Heights, Maryland home-base. She joined the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. While in the military, she became a Respiratory Therapist providing respiratory therapy at various military hospitals to battlefields. As a Respiratory Therapist, Detashia deployed to Afghanistan, Cuba, and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Detashia retired after 20 years of Naval service as a First-Class Petty Officer.
Detashia has earned an Associates of Liberal Arts degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu, HI. She is currently enrolled in Religious Studies at the Baber-Scotia College, with an estimated graduation date of December 2024.
She is a former pageant contestant who entered the world of pageantry in 2017 to assist her with healing of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and winning the battle against Lupus. She enjoys traveling and volunteering with organizations whose missions are to change, enhance, impact, and improve the lives of others.
She has been a business owner for seven years but has not achieved the success she knows is possible. She has a desire to start more businesses in the future. She hopes to gain accountability partners, knowledge, support, and an understanding community. She believes the Dog Tag Fellowship Program will push her to continue to be great, service others, and impact the world for positive change.
Her favorite baked goods are lemon meringue pie and chocolate brownie with butter pecan or vanilla ice cream.
