Molakai Teague

Molakai Teague, a Detroit native, has always loved to, volunteer, bake and serve others. While growing up and working in her mother’s hair salon, she would always bake cakes for the customers and in return they would pay her money. This began to sow the entrepreneurship seed early in Molakai.

After graduating high school, she attended Macomb Community College for one semester, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 19. Molakai received her B.S. in Business from UMUC, European division, and her M.A. from Webster University.

Molakai went on to have an honorable and distinguished military career and served 22 years in the medical logistics field. Responsibilities included procuring all of the medical supplies and equipment for each of the base-level hospitals that she was assigned during her tenure in the military. Molakai was stationed in various counties, for Asia, to Europe and the middle east. Additionally, Molakai served in many diverse leadership roles, including First Sgt, Superintendent for the various Medical Groups, Airman and Family readiness centers, and Airmen promotion board president. Her servant-leadership style led to her being recognized for multiple achievements, including quarterly personal and annual flight awards.

What led Molakai to dog tag bakery was the need for change. She felt like she was in a point in her life where she needed something uniquely different and a fresh perspective that would allow her to reconnect with the military community.

What Molakai hopes to gain from the Dog Tag Bakery fellowship program are new entrepreneurial skills and a new sense of well-being.
