Army Veteran and Army Spouse

Scarlet Ysasi

Scarlet Ysasi is a mother of two from Northern Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and will be pursuing a Master of Art in Arts Management from American University.

Scarlet served in the U.S. Army, met her husband in the Army, and is the daughter of an Army veteran. She served the Special Operations community as a linguist and intelligence professional. Prior to the military, she worked with a nonprofit that provided personalized firearm training to veterans who had been wounded in combat. She is continuing to serve the military community as a volunteer for a nonprofit that provides mentorship to female veterans as they transition into civilian life.

Scarlet has a long standing love for the arts. After her father was injured in Afghanistan in 2010, she found solace in ballet and modern dance. This love inspired her to learn more about art and culture around the world. The Dog Tag fellowship presents an opportunity to collaborate with others and continue to support her community.

Traditional Italian tiramisu is Scarlet’s favorite sweet treat!
